Renewing your vows
Doing it again – entirely our way (now we are all grown up)
I married by husband Ryan almost 20 years ago. We had a fabulous traditional wedding – picture postcard church service surrounded by friends and family, a big old barn reception, with booze and boogying galore!
I want to do it all again. Do you?
Renewing your vows can be a great way to celebrate your big day and your commitment to one another in an entirely new way.
If we were honest and being true to our authentic selves, I know we would have been just as at home in a bluebell wood with a hog roast banquet and paper plates in an old piggery! And that is exactly what we’re planning…part of it anyway.
We’re going to include the kids – everyone’s. We’re going to include all our new friends that we’ve met over the years, as well as those who were there at the beginning. We’re going to make sure we have a late licence, as we’ll be partying at our house. We’re going to dress up, medieval style (channelling The Princes Bride) and drink from silver goblets! Well, some of the above anyway. I can get a little carried away sometimes! But that’s they joy of a vow renewal. Anything goes.
What would you do?
You may want your celebration to look and feel like a traditional wedding or you might prefer the complete opposite. You might want to escape to the Maldives, like Jamie and Jools Oliver did for their vow renewal. It’s entirely up to you. Your ceremony can be as simple or as opulent as you would like – both can be splendid! Importantly, your ceremony can take place whenever and wherever you want as there are no legal requirements or documentation needed.
This is where you can really personalise your day – and one of the joys of having a celebrant led celebration as the sky’s the limit!
From a simple exchange of vows and rings to a more symbolic ceremony including poems, readings, music, and rituals, I’ll help you every step of the way, creating a bespoke ceremony just for you.
That’s right - everything from the entrance and where you wish to stand or sit, the words and rituals, right through to the exit and the all-important confetti shot.
Let’s talk…I’m excited already.
