It’s official - Suzi is an Award Winning Wedding Celebrant - YAY!
Well, well, well! What a couple of weeks it has been in my life as a wedding celebrant. Not only a wedding celebrant mind – an award-winning wedding celebrant!
That’s right, on Wednesday 27th November I was announced as the BEST NEWCOMER across all categories for the South Central Region in The Wedding Industry Awards at the fabulous wedding venue Silchester Farm. I couldn’t quite believe it.
In fact, I’d just sent a quick message to my husband that I hadn’t won the Wedding Celebrant category, only to look up from my phone (naughty me!) to hear my name being called out as Best Newcomer. I know!! And now I’m off to the National awards ceremony in January to see if I can scoop another one!
What’s strange though is that I don’t feel ‘new’ at all! In the past year I’ve loved getting to know and helping lots of couples celebrate their union with a truly personal, joyful and memorable wedding ceremony on their wedding day. My wealth of experience as a writer and storyteller for the past 25 years has come into its own for them, I’m proud to say. I’d be very happy to do the same journey with you.
To top off what was already a wonderful night of celebrations, my local paper The Henley Standard and local radio stations we’re also pleased to hear about my win and wanted to share it with their readers and listeners. So after a somewhat nerve-wracking live interview on BBC RADIO BERKSHIRE, my win was shared on both of the BBC RADIO BERKSHIRE and BBC RADIO OXFORDSHIRE news bulletins too! Mad and marvellous! Perhaps that’s why you find yourself here on this blog now…
So what’s all the fuss about?
When it comes to planning a wedding, the ceremony is really the most important part.
Yes, we love the food and drink, the dancing and the catching up with everyone too of course…
But the moment where you both declare your love and commitment to each other in front of your closest family and friends is why all your nearest and dearest have gathered and what really counts. So let’s make sure it does!
If you would like a tailor-made, memorable and fun ceremony, then let’s talk.
As I can’t legally marry you, my couples and their two witnesses head to the Register Office in advance of the big venue day to secure all the legalities in a popular 2+2 ceremony - leaving us to work together and have lots of fun creating a bespoke and personal ceremony that really stands out from any other, and without any rules or restrictions. You might even want to include your favourite tipple in the ceremony…I’ll explain how…
Just call or message me for a no obligation chat to find out more….
Exciting times are ahead. And huge congratulations on your engagement!
Want to know more about the awards…. here’s Damian Bailey, founder of The Wedding Industry Awards, and the reasons why you should look for this mark of recognition throughout your wedding planning journey. We all quite literally make it our business to make sure you enjoy your day your way!
“Since 2011 The Wedding Industry Awards has been dedicated to recognising and rewarding excellence in the wedding industry and this year’s Regional Finalists are clearly at the top of their game. Our awards are unique as they are voted by recent wedding couples and it’s not the total number of votes that companies receive that leads to success. Instead, we focus on the quality of the feedback they get from eligible couples, amongst other things. Larger companies and talented individuals compete on a level playing field and the best wedding suppliers always rise to the top.”
So there you have it. Fingers crossed for the finals! 😊
